The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Huanghua plotted against Hebei and China. The SNDi of new construction in Huanghua peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hebei which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Huanghua's incremental SNDi fell from 3.04 to 3.02 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Huanghua ranked 28th out of 120 cities in Hebei and 554th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Huanghua built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Kortrijk built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Al Baaj fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Huanghua and Kortrijk both became progressively more disconnected, while Al Baaj became progressively more connected. Huanghua and Kortrijk have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
