The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with SHIBU plotted against Guangxi and China. The SNDi of new construction in SHIBU followed a zig-zag trend, compared to Guangxi which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, SHIBU's incremental SNDi rose from 1.69 to 4.68 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, SHIBU ranked 27th out of 63 cities in Guangxi and 997th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Aisegba and Giteranyi both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, SHIBU fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Aisegba and Giteranyi both became progressively more disconnected, while SHIBU fluctuated in connectivity. SHIBU and Aisegba have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
