The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dongxing plotted against Guangxi and China. The SNDi of new construction in Dongxing rose steadily, compared to Guangxi which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dongxing's incremental SNDi rose from 3.56 to 3.98 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dongxing ranked 51st out of 63 cities in Guangxi and 1470th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dongxing built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Linköping built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Anar built increasingly connected streets over time. For the full network, Dongxing and Linköping both became progressively more disconnected, while Anar became progressively more connected. Dongxing and Anar have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
