All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Ruyuan's incremental SNDi rose from 1.9 to 2.25 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Ruyuan ranked 12th out of 133 cities in Guangdong and 295th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Obiozara and Diégonéfla both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Ruyuan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Obiozara and Diégonéfla both became progressively more disconnected, while Ruyuan fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Ruyuan had a more sprawly network than Diégonéfla in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
