All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Pingyuan's incremental SNDi rose from 4.5 to 6.22 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Pingyuan ranked 115th out of 133 cities in Guangdong as of 2020.

For the full network, Pingyuan fluctuated in connectivity, while Champaign became progressively more disconnected and Boulder grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
