The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nanxiong plotted against Guangdong and China. The SNDi of new construction in Nanxiong peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Guangdong which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nanxiong's incremental SNDi fell from 4.3 to 3.34 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nanxiong ranked 43rd out of 133 cities in Guangdong and 787th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nanxiong built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Kyaukse fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Wonosari built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Nanxiong and Wonosari both became progressively more disconnected, while Kyaukse fluctuated in connectivity. Nanxiong and Kyaukse have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
