The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Hexi plotted against Guangdong and China. The SNDi of new construction in Hexi peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Guangdong which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. For the full network, Hexi and Deder both grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Sandesh became progressively more disconnected. Hexi and Sandesh have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
