The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Diancheng plotted against Guangdong and China. The SNDi of new construction in Diancheng followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Guangdong which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Diancheng's incremental SNDi fell from 3.68 to 2.83 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Diancheng ranked 64th out of 133 cities in Guangdong and 1128th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Diancheng fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Idanre built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Bheramara built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Idanre and Bheramara both became progressively more disconnected, while Diancheng fluctuated in connectivity. Diancheng and Idanre have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
