The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Qingcheng plotted against Gansu and China. The SNDi of new construction in Qingcheng fell steadily, compared to Gansu which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Qingcheng's incremental SNDi fell from 5.28 to 4.17 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Qingcheng ranked 23rd out of 29 cities in Gansu and 1758th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

Looking at the full network, Chợ Mới and Cianorte both became progressively more disconnected, while Qingcheng became progressively more connected. Qingcheng and Chợ Mới have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
