The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Minqin plotted against Gansu and China. While Gansu and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Minqin's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Minqin's incremental SNDi rose from 2.92 to 4.49 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Minqin ranked 4th out of 29 cities in Gansu and 994th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Minqin fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Walungu built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Mahwa fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Minqin became progressively more disconnected, while Walungu became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Mahwa fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Minqin had a more connected network than Mahwa in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
