The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Hezuo plotted against Gansu and China. While Gansu and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Hezuo's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Hezuo's incremental SNDi rose from 4.05 to 5.14 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Hezuo ranked 16th out of 29 cities in Gansu and 1602nd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Hezuo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while 王瓜店街道 built increasingly connected streets over time and Gopalpur fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Hezuo became progressively more disconnected, while 王瓜店街道 became progressively more connected and Gopalpur fluctuated in connectivity. Hezuo and 王瓜店街道 have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
