The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Yanping plotted against Fujian and China. The SNDi of new construction in Yanping peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Fujian which peaked in 1976-1990 and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Yanping's incremental SNDi fell from 5.36 to 2.81 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Yanping ranked 56th out of 75 cities in Fujian and 1570th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Yanping and Aachen both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Diourbel built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Diourbel and Aachen both became progressively more disconnected, while Yanping grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
