While Fujian and China both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Ningde's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Ningde's incremental SNDi rose from 3.28 to 3.74 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Ningde ranked 42nd out of 75 cities in Fujian and 1334th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Juliaca and Timergara both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Ningde fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Juliaca and Timergara both became progressively more disconnected, while Ningde fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Ningde had a more sprawly network than Timergara in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
