The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zheba plotted against Chongqing and China. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Zheba's incremental SNDi rose from 3.61 to 4.07 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zheba ranked 28th out of 47 cities in Chongqing and 1583rd out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Zheba fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Nimule built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Lishui built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Zheba grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Nimule became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Lishui became progressively more disconnected. Zheba and Nimule have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
