The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Shichuan plotted against Chongqing and China. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Shichuan's incremental SNDi rose from 1.64 to 3.12 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shichuan ranked 19th out of 47 cities in Chongqing and 1038th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Shichuan and Los Reyes de Salgado both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Pokaran built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Shichuan fluctuated in connectivity, while Pokaran grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Los Reyes de Salgado became progressively more disconnected. Shichuan and Los Reyes de Salgado have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
