The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Pengshui plotted against Chongqing and China. The SNDi of new construction in Pengshui rose steadily, compared to Chongqing which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Pengshui's incremental SNDi rose from 4.86 to 5.81 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Pengshui ranked 38th out of 47 cities in Chongqing and 1738th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

While Kangdong and Luhe both built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, Pengshui built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Kangdong and Luhe both became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Pengshui became progressively more disconnected. Pengshui and Kangdong have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
