All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Shucheng's incremental SNDi rose from 1.99 to 3.07 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shucheng ranked 25th out of 74 cities in Anhui and 374th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Shucheng fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Raniyan built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Zhuanghe built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Shucheng and Raniyan both became progressively more disconnected, while Zhuanghe grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Shucheng and Raniyan have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
