The SNDi of new construction in Mengcheng peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Anhui which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Mengcheng's incremental SNDi fell from 1.94 to 1.18 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, Mengcheng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Puerto Plata built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Mthatha fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Mengcheng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Puerto Plata became progressively more disconnected and Mthatha fluctuated in connectivity. Mengcheng and Puerto Plata have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
