The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Huangshan plotted against Anhui and China. The SNDi of new construction in Huangshan rose steadily, compared to Anhui which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and China which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Huangshan's incremental SNDi rose from 3.71 to 4.51 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Huangshan ranked 61st out of 74 cities in Anhui and 1368th out of 1843 in China as of 2020.

In new street additions, Huangshan and Basirhat both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Thakurgaon fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Huangshan and Thakurgaon have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
