The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Gatineau plotted against Québec and Canada. The SNDi of new construction in Gatineau followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Québec which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Canada which peaked in 1976-1990. Most recently, Gatineau's incremental SNDi rose from 3.17 to 4.15 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Gatineau ranked 7th out of 10 cities in Québec and 44th out of 54 in Canada as of 2020.

In new street additions, Gatineau fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Guanxian built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Araucária built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Gatineau and Araucária both became progressively more disconnected, while Guanxian grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Gatineau and Araucária have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
