The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Bafoussam plotted against Ouest and Cameroon. The SNDi of new construction in Bafoussam followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Ouest which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Cameroon which rose steadily. Most recently, Bafoussam's incremental SNDi rose from 3.97 to 5.3 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Bafoussam ranked 4th out of 5 cities in Ouest and 28th out of 44 in Cameroon as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Tambov and Szczecin both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Bafoussam fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Bafoussam and Tambov have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
