The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Garoua plotted against Nord and Cameroon. The SNDi of new construction in Garoua followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Nord which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Cameroon which rose steadily. Most recently, Garoua's incremental SNDi rose from 2.4 to 2.49 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Garoua ranked 2nd out of 5 cities in Nord and 7th out of 44 in Cameroon as of 2020.

In new street additions, Garoua and Cangzhou both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Rangpur built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Garoua and Cangzhou both became progressively more disconnected, while Rangpur became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards.
