The SNDi of new construction in Ngozi followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, while Burundi rose steadily. Most recently, Ngozi's incremental SNDi rose from 2.78 to 5.01 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Ngozi ranked 7th out of 10 in Burundi as of 2020.

In new street additions, Ngozi and Bozhou both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Aramoko-Ekiti built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Ngozi and Aramoko-Ekiti both became progressively more disconnected, while Bozhou fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Ngozi had a more sprawly network than Aramoko-Ekiti in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
