The SNDi of new construction in Itatiba rose steadily, compared to São Paulo which rose steadily and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Itatiba's incremental SNDi rose from 4.01 to 4.46 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Itatiba ranked 64th out of 76 cities in São Paulo and 296th out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

In new street additions, Itatiba built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Jatibarang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Nanjing fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Itatiba and Nanjing both became progressively more disconnected, while Jatibarang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Itatiba and Jatibarang have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
