The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Cosmópolis plotted against São Paulo and Brazil. The SNDi of new construction in Cosmópolis rose steadily, compared to São Paulo which rose steadily and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Cosmópolis's incremental SNDi rose from 2.42 to 3.76 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Cosmópolis ranked 38th out of 76 cities in São Paulo and 142nd out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Cosmópolis and Dhamdaha both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Mahalapye fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Cosmópolis and Dhamdaha both became progressively more disconnected, while Mahalapye fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Cosmópolis had a more connected network than Mahalapye in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
