The SNDi of new construction in Campinas rose steadily, compared to São Paulo which rose steadily and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Campinas's incremental SNDi rose from 3.57 to 4.47 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Campinas ranked 54th out of 76 cities in São Paulo and 264th out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Campinas built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Putian built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Niterói fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Campinas and Niterói both became progressively more disconnected, while Putian grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
