The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Bauru plotted against São Paulo and Brazil. While São Paulo and Brazil both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Bauru's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Bauru's incremental SNDi rose from 1.9 to 3.28 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Bauru ranked 20th out of 76 cities in São Paulo and 88th out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

In new street additions, Bauru fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Jiyuan built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Wad Madanī built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Bauru and Jiyuan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
