The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Florianópolis plotted against Santa Catarina and Brazil. The SNDi of new construction in Florianópolis rose steadily, compared to Santa Catarina which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Florianópolis's incremental SNDi rose from 5.05 to 5.16 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Florianópolis ranked 9th out of 13 cities in Santa Catarina and 330th out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

In new street additions, Florianópolis and Jalpaiguri both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Panvel built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Florianópolis and Jalpaiguri both became progressively more disconnected, while Panvel grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Florianópolis had a more connected network than Jalpaiguri in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
