The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Ijuí plotted against Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. The SNDi of new construction in Ijuí rose steadily, compared to Rio Grande do Sul which rose steadily and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Ijuí's incremental SNDi rose from 1.91 to 2.97 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Ijuí ranked 2nd out of 22 cities in Rio Grande do Sul and 75th out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Mỹ Đức and 益农村 both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Ijuí built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Ijuí became progressively more disconnected, while Mỹ Đức fluctuated in connectivity and 益农村 became progressively more connected. Ijuí and 益农村 have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
