The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Guaíba plotted against Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. The SNDi of new construction in Guaíba rose steadily, compared to Rio Grande do Sul which rose steadily and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Guaíba's incremental SNDi rose from 3.59 to 3.91 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Guaíba ranked 17th out of 22 cities in Rio Grande do Sul and 262nd out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

In new street additions, Guaíba built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Sheraro built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Kakina fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Guaíba became progressively more disconnected, while Sheraro became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Kakina fluctuated in connectivity. Guaíba and Sheraro have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
