All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Umuarama's incremental SNDi rose from 2.31 to 3.25 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Umuarama ranked 10th out of 22 cities in Paraná and 178th out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Maxixe and Ire both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Umuarama fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Notably, Umuarama had a more sprawly network than Maxixe in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
