The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Chapadinha plotted against Maranhão and Brazil. The SNDi of new construction in Chapadinha peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Maranhão which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Chapadinha's incremental SNDi fell from 2.08 to 1.66 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chapadinha ranked 3rd out of 11 cities in Maranhão and 102nd out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

In new street additions, Chapadinha built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Almalyk fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Carazinho built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Almalyk and Carazinho both became progressively more disconnected, while Chapadinha grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Chapadinha had a more connected network than Carazinho in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
