The SNDi of new construction in Itabuna rose steadily, compared to Bahia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Brazil which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Itabuna's incremental SNDi rose from 3.58 to 4.77 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Itabuna ranked 12th out of 22 cities in Bahia and 223rd out of 365 in Brazil as of 2020.

While Chengguan and Lixian both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, Itabuna built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Itabuna and Lixian both became progressively more disconnected, while Chengguan grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
