The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Dirai plotted against Sylhet and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Dirai rose steadily, compared to Sylhet which rose steadily and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Dirai's incremental SNDi rose from 13.09 to 14.69 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Dirai ranked 22nd out of 24 cities in Sylhet and 215th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Dirai built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Song built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Dera fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Dirai became progressively more disconnected, while Song became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards and Dera fluctuated in connectivity.
