The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Baniachong plotted against Sylhet and Bangladesh. While Sylhet and Bangladesh both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Baniachong's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Baniachong's incremental SNDi rose from 3.8 to 5.63 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Baniachong ranked 4th out of 24 cities in Sylhet and 59th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Baniachong and Qiyang both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Cachoeiro de Itapemirim built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Qiyang and Cachoeiro de Itapemirim both became progressively more disconnected, while Baniachong fluctuated in connectivity. Baniachong and Qiyang have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
