The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Parbatipur plotted against Rangpur and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Parbatipur rose steadily, compared to Rangpur which rose steadily and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Parbatipur's incremental SNDi rose from 4.47 to 4.7 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Parbatipur ranked 7th out of 30 cities in Rangpur and 40th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Parbatipur built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Cheng'an built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Bazoul built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Parbatipur became progressively more disconnected, while Cheng'an grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Bazoul became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Parbatipur and Cheng'an have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
