The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kakina plotted against Rangpur and Bangladesh. While Rangpur and Bangladesh both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Kakina's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kakina's incremental SNDi rose from 10.66 to 14.14 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kakina ranked 29th out of 30 cities in Rangpur and 219th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Kakina fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Guaíba built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Guerrara built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Kakina fluctuated in connectivity, while Guaíba became progressively more disconnected and Guerrara became progressively more connected. Kakina and Guaíba have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
