The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Chilmari plotted against Rangpur and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Chilmari rose steadily, compared to Rangpur which rose steadily and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Chilmari's incremental SNDi rose from 8.11 to 9.6 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Chilmari ranked 24th out of 30 cities in Rangpur and 172nd out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

While Gaya and Jagtial both built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, Chilmari built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Gaya and Jagtial both became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Chilmari became progressively more disconnected. Chilmari and Gaya have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
