The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Sonatala plotted against Rajshahi and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Sonatala peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Rajshahi which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Sonatala's incremental SNDi fell from 8.55 to 7.64 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Sonatala ranked 24th out of 37 cities in Rajshahi and 160th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Sonatala built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while New Castle built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Talang Gudang built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, New Castle and Talang Gudang both became progressively more disconnected, while Sonatala grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Sonatala and New Castle have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
