The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Shihali plotted against Rajshahi and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Shihali peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Rajshahi which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Shihali's incremental SNDi fell from 8.85 to 5.08 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Shihali ranked 26th out of 37 cities in Rajshahi and 178th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Shihali built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Hanumangarh fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Mukachevo built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Hanumangarh and Mukachevo both became progressively more disconnected, while Shihali became progressively more connected.
