The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nikli plotted against Dhaka and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Nikli peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Dhaka which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nikli's incremental SNDi fell from 10.64 to 10.18 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nikli ranked 30th out of 40 cities in Dhaka and 166th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nikli and Akot both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Chiro built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Nikli and Chiro both became progressively more disconnected, while Akot grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Nikli and Akot have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
