The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Faridpur plotted against Dhaka and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Faridpur rose steadily, compared to Dhaka which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Faridpur's incremental SNDi rose from 4.94 to 8.28 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Faridpur ranked 5th out of 40 cities in Dhaka as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Faridpur and Beed both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Dujiangyan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Faridpur and Beed both became progressively more disconnected, while Dujiangyan fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Faridpur had a more connected network than Dujiangyan in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
