The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Elenga plotted against Dhaka and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Elenga was at its lowest in 1976-1990, compared to Dhaka which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Elenga's incremental SNDi rose from 8.85 to 13.27 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Elenga ranked 31st out of 40 cities in Dhaka and 173rd out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Elenga built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Heshun fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Jönköping built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Heshun and Jönköping both became progressively more disconnected, while Elenga became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards.
