The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Afamolla plotted against Dhaka and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Afamolla rose steadily, compared to Dhaka which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Afamolla's incremental SNDi rose from 11.64 to 14.43 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Afamolla ranked 37th out of 40 cities in Dhaka and 220th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Afamolla and Debark both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Lens fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend.
