The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Matiranga plotted against Chittagong and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Matiranga rose steadily, compared to Chittagong which rose steadily and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Matiranga's incremental SNDi rose from 8.29 to 11.11 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Matiranga ranked 25th out of 44 cities in Chittagong and 153rd out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

In new street additions, Matiranga and Acámbaro both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Farafangana fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Matiranga and Acámbaro both became progressively more disconnected, while Farafangana grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Matiranga and Farafangana have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
