The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Char Alexander plotted against Chittagong and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Char Alexander rose steadily, compared to Chittagong which rose steadily and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Char Alexander's incremental SNDi rose from 7.18 to 9.26 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Char Alexander ranked 29th out of 44 cities in Chittagong and 174th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Char Alexander built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Urdaneta built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Sirsaganj built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Char Alexander and Urdaneta both became progressively more disconnected, while Sirsaganj grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, Char Alexander had a more connected network than Urdaneta in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
