The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Jhalokathi plotted against Barisal and Bangladesh. The SNDi of new construction in Jhalokathi was at its lowest in 1991-2005, compared to Barisal which rose steadily and Bangladesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Jhalokathi's incremental SNDi rose from 5.72 to 6.99 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Jhalokathi ranked 8th out of 15 cities in Barisal and 108th out of 234 in Bangladesh as of 2020.

While Vaddu and Hindupur both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Jhalokathi built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Vaddu and Hindupur both became progressively more disconnected, while Jhalokathi became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Jhalokathi and Vaddu have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
