The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Khachmaz plotted against Quba-Khachmaz and Azerbaijan. The SNDi of new construction in Khachmaz fell steadily, compared to Quba-Khachmaz which peaked in 1976-1990 and Azerbaijan which peaked in 1991-2005. Most recently, Khachmaz's incremental SNDi fell from 3.69 to 3.37 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Khachmaz ranked 2nd out of 2 cities in Quba-Khachmaz and 7th out of 20 in Azerbaijan as of 2020.

While Fana and Quezaltepeque both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Khachmaz built increasingly connected streets over time in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Fana and Quezaltepeque both became progressively more disconnected, while Khachmaz became progressively more connected. Notably, Khachmaz had a more sprawly network than Quezaltepeque in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
