The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Şirvan plotted against Aran and Azerbaijan. The SNDi of new construction in Şirvan fell steadily, compared to Aran which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Azerbaijan which peaked in 1991-2005. Most recently, Şirvan's incremental SNDi fell from 5.12 to 4.29 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Şirvan ranked 5th out of 7 cities in Aran and 17th out of 20 in Azerbaijan as of 2020.

While Gaochang and Parvathipuram both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, Şirvan built increasingly connected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Şirvan became progressively more connected, while Gaochang fluctuated in connectivity and Parvathipuram became progressively more disconnected. Şirvan and Gaochang have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
