The SNDi of new construction in Aïn Touta rose steadily, compared to Batna which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Algeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease. Most recently, Aïn Touta's incremental SNDi rose from 1.71 to 2.67 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Aïn Touta ranked 1st out of 3 cities in Batna and 29th out of 109 in Algeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Aïn Touta and Bamaur both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Aliade fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Aïn Touta and Bamaur both became progressively more disconnected, while Aliade fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Aïn Touta had a more sprawly network than Aliade in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
